FOCUSED ON
THE INDIVIDUAL
Crescent Healthcare’s Enteral Nutrition Program is designed to fit the
individualized needs of its patients. Beginning at the point of referral, Crescent’s
Enteral Team assesses the patient’s demographics to determine how each
patient’s needs can be met.
Patients who are receiving
enteral therapy for the first time may need associated
clinical services such as skilled nursing visits or consultation
with a Board Certified Nutrition Support Dietitian (C.N.S.D.).
Other patients, who have received enteral nutrition before
may prefer supply management services alone. Crescent
Healthcare’s goal is to
provide safe, appropriate and high-quality services to
each of our enteral nutrition patients.
Our nutritional support dietitians review enteral referrals
and are available for consultation and advice about:
· Appropriate calorie and nutrient levels
· Using specialty formulas
· Avoiding food-related allergies
· Enteral nutrition for infants and children.
TARGETED INTAKE
Intake Specialists in two, regional enteral intake centers are knowledgeable
about enteral products, supplies and requirements. The intake process for
enteral nutrition therapy focuses on critical information that ensures safe
and effective therapy. A nutrition support dietitian is available for consultation
as needed. We use a dedicated formulary to ensure that high quality products
are always available and can assist you with identifying clinically equivalent
formulas as indicated or provide brand-specific products as needed.
ACCESS TO RESOURCES
Crescent Healthcare works closely with nutritional product manufacturers to
make additional resources available, such as educational videotapes and literature
for patients and healthcare professionals. We provide
information about the Oley
foundation,
a support group for patients who receive parenteral and
enteral nutrition and the American
Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN),
a professional society dedicated to optimum nutrition.
BILLING
EXPERTISE FOR GOVERNMENT AND COMMERCIAL PAYERS
Billing
government and commercial payers for enteral nutrition
can be complicated. From the point of referral, our
Intake Specialists obtain the required demographic
documentation for the prescribed services and ensure
that the payer’s eligibility
requirements are met. After the initial authorization
period, Reauthorization Specialists continue to work
with the patient’s physician and payer to ensure
that on-going documentation requirements are fulfilled
and that the patient continues to receive uninterrupted
care.
